Tony does state that the rest of the band flew in from Santa Barbara this morning and checked into the rooms. Gwen and her family have been there since last night.

Okay, so apparently the DJs called Tony’s room at the hotel, and originally were having trouble getting connected to his room. Obviously he’s under a fake name, and apparently the desk clerk was having trouble spelling his name. They just flew into Las Vegas yesterday morning, and he planned on hanging out by the pool and sleeping. He said the last four shows in Irvine was the time of his life. The DJ asks him if they have found their “inspiration”… and he said they have. Tony says they feel really good about themselves and as a band playing together again. He also says this tour has the most fun they have ever have. Tony tells a funny story of how they didn’t have problems with names of cities this tour since their production manager has been putting the name of the city they are in under the set list. How funny! Tony also talks about an incident on Norway or Sweden on the Tragic Kingdom tour back in 1997 where he tripped on stage and his bass went into his chin (aww!) and cut his chin! He also recalls the time where he fell on stage during the Tsunami benefit in 2004 (it was during “Sunday Morning,” you can find the video on YouTube.)

He’s so cute saying how Gwen inspires the band, she’s amazing, just watching her onstage every night and how she’s basically super mom. The interview is really cute, the DJ brings up Curtis, the fifth member of No Doubt. It’s really funny, the DJ recalls before meeting No Doubt, Curtis always tells fans/reporters that there is no hugging the band, no kisses (I remember this during my meet and greet in Fresno, but I was the lucky, Gwen hugged me twice anyway!)

Thanks to Rosie for heads up, but Gwen called into local Detroit radio station Mojo 95.5 this morning to talk about the show tonight in Auburn Hills (ugh at them for playing “The Sweet Escape” in the background, but anyways.) She sounds really groggy, “tour voice” as she likes to say, but she did just wake up and she is… in the middle of the tour. She talks about the goods and the bads of being on the road with her children, she tells a cute story about how the kids climbed into bed with her in the middle of the night and woke her up. Gwen talks about how she’s done it before with King on her last tour, but she finds her days off harder than nights with shows. Apparently tonight’s meet and greet before the show has over 60 people in there… yikes!

The DJ brings up the whole “tension” thing with her, and she explains how of course they are going to have their issues, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. She talks about how they were getting frustrated trying to write the next record, but it wasn’t coming for them. No Doubt decided to hit the road, then Gossip Girl called them and wanted the band to record a song… which the band wasn’t planning on. She describes the studio situation as “challenging,” and says that her and Tony got in their first fight in a really, really long time. Apparently it was over the phone, they were cussing each other out (she actually cussed on the radio — they bleeped her!) She thinks it had to do with the pressure to do the song, the band wasn’t ready, the tour, and just unresolved feelings. The DJs are kind of jackasses asking her if she appreciated going solo so she didn’t have to fight, and asks if she plans on heading to do more “Gwen Stefani stuff” after the tour is over. She explains that fighting is never fun, but she never intended to the solo thing to last as long as it did, it was meant as a dance record, and the plan was to come back home to do another No Doubt record, which is what’s next. Maybe it’s just me, but you can kind of her an annoyance in Gwen’s tone with the DJ keeps pushing the solo thing even going as far as asking her if Interscope is pushing her to ditch the band and go solo since “she sold all those records” and that “she can do it by herself.” What an dork! She just responds, “No, not one bit,” and assures them she’s never heard that. She was in a hurry to get off the phone. I don’t blame her.

Sweet! Thanks to Rosie for finding, but Cleveland based radio station 88.3 The Sting will be broadcasting a 18 hour marathon of only No Doubt’s music on Thursday, June 25. It will be running until 1:00 AM the following morning, and will be featuring covers, Gwen’s solo material, b-sides, and more. I’m curious to what they will be playing! The broadcast will also be streaming online so everyone can listen in!

So, today seems kind of like catchup day for me — I added over 200 photos that were donated to BSO by some amazing fans (Katie, Ortho, Nick, Carol, etc. — they are so great!) to the gallery, and I’m also in the process of adding a bunch of live mp3s from The Today Show, Atlantic City and Bamboozle as well to the site. I added a new live tab under the audio section, and also added a quick link in the side bar as well. I think those will come in handy when fans just want to find something quick — there it is! I also updated BSO radio with the new mp3s as well so you can listen to them live while browsing the site. More should be coming all through the day, so keep checking back!

Woooah! Thanks to a bunch of fans who e-mailed me this morning — it looks like “Stand and Deliver” is already hitting the radio waves! That was quick! According to Tom, they had no intentions of putting the song out or anything on the radio or TV (minus Gossip Girls) — how amazing! It’s already becoming a hit! What do you guys think of it?

Also, vote on E! Online your opinion on the song — it seems to be getting pretty mixed reviews. The poll currently stands at 57% loving it, while 43% think…not so much. Below is the story from E!, and a couple reviews/links to other websites to see what other people are saying! We love it!

Adam and the Ants have walked into No Doubt’s spiderweb.

A cover version of the New Wave band’s 1981hit “Stand and Deliver” by Gwen Stefani and Co. has leaked onto the Internet and is already getting some serious radio airplay.

While we were a bit nervous going into it, fearing they would try to outdo the original, the group wisely chose to play it pretty close to the vest and, as a result, the song comes across as more of an homage to one of their musical influences than anything else.

No Doubt will be performing the song on the May 11 episode of Gossip Girl, just days after the band kicks off its first tour in five years on May 2 in Atlantic City.

We applaud No Doubt for going a more obscure route with their comeback single, picking this track over more popular new wave hits and even more famous Adam Ant songs like “Goody Two Shoes” or “Don’t Be Square (Be There.)” Now if only No Doubt will film an equally ridiculous music video for “Stand and Deliver” like Adam and his Ants did.

Woah! Congratulations to ND and to all the fans who were lucky to get tickets to these shows (we’re seeing them on July 31, August 1, and August 2!) No Doubt have sold out the last six shows of the tour (excluding August 4 as of now) in Los Angeles and Irvine, California! They are going to be amazing and I’ve been told the 4th is also going to be a sell out. What a dream come true for them, seriously. Woo! I finally found a local one! I was surprised (in a good way!) that Adrian actually called into our local alternative station here in Seattle, The End 107.7 a couple days ago to talk about the upcoming tour stop in our home town at White River.

It seems as if the DJ has been obsessed with them since she was young, check out the blog she wrote on the radio station’s website.

Yesterday I got an email from harms that said Weds at 12:50 I would be interviewing ADRIAN YOUNG the drummer for NO DOUBT…… I AM SO NERVOUS…

I mean, it’s a phone interview, thankfully that gets rid of a little bit of nerves, but not really.

We do so many things with amazing bands. Weezer comes and does a concert where you can also be on stage and play with them, we do endsessions and meet and greets with bands all the time, and I am always like, ‘oh man this is so cool’ but my excitement is never at the ‘passing out’ level…

This may be the ‘Passing Out” level… OMG! I used to have pictures of NO DOUBT all over my wall! I had 13 copies of TRAGIC KINGDOM (I’m going to lie and say 7) when I interview Adrian cos I don’t want him to think that I am psycho….. I was “gwen stefani” for halloween for years and years…..I named one of my bands “The Gwen-A-Bee’s”….. (oh come on i was 12) and No Doubt’s music is totally one of the biggest influences on what shaped me into who I am today……

and to be able to talk to Adrian, is making me so nervous!! I didn’t sleep very much last night, and my stomach is in KNOTS.. I’ve met Tom Delong, Travis Barker, Tom Morrello, Paramore, Nicole Ritchie, The Dudes from Goldfinger ect. ect. ect. but this is killllllllliiiinnnnggggggg mmmyyyy nervveessss…

I posted “I am interviewing Adrian from No Doubt” on my facebook, and a friend I went to high school with wrote me back “don’t be nervous, you’ve been waiting your WHOLE LIFE to talk to him!”

That’s just what makes me nervous….I’ve been waiting my whole life to talk to them!!!

Adrian mentioned how the tour is a great way for the band to reconnect. He confirmed that Steve and Gabe will be on the tour,as well,saying the tour would not work without them.About Paramore being the opening act, he said he had heard some of their songs on the radio and liked them,and that he thought they would be a ”perfect fit” for ND. When asked which songs wouldn’t be played on the tour,he metioned that since the concert will be about an hour and a half long, obviously some of their catalogue wouldn’t be played. The DJ was a huge fan and when she admitted she had 13 copies of Tragic Kingdom,Adrian laughed and said he had about 45 copies of it in his closet,lol. The DJ asked if his hair would undergo any chnages for the tour,and he said probably not,and that decisions like that were ”gametime” ones. He mentioned again that he will be talking to Mason about his wardrobe(or lack thereof) for the tour.

Thanks so much to our good buddy Rosie for breaking down for us, apparently Tony revealed a little more in a recent interview with Baltimore radio station. Gwen is apparently really into The Killers right now (we are too!) and has new ND material on her iPod! Woo! We’re jealous!

He mentioned that along with the singles,there have been ”deeper album tracks” ”busting out” of their tour rehearsals that have been bringing back a flood of memories for them(don’t know if he was referring to End It On This, Happy Now and Different People that he had mentioned in another interview,or other ones.) He talked about he and Gwen ’s relationship and how blessed he feels to have her in his life;he also talked about working with Pink,calling her a ‘’sweetheart” and how their paths had crossed several times in the past while they were both touring(he said that they had talked about working together while drunk at parties,lol,and that it finally happened). He also mentioned again how working with different artists the past few years has brought a ”freshness” to the band meetings,and that as soon as they started talking about touring again this summer,they turned from four adults into little kids. On a random note,he mentioned that his parents’ store Kanal’s Gifts and Fashion has been closed since 1985(I know a few people here were wondering about that),and that when ND first formed,they used the empty store as a rehearsal space. He also mentioned how that asteroid layout of his website is a homage to the days when he would beg the band for quarters to play in the arcade in Anaheim.

Gwen had mentioned in one of the other interviews that she likes The Killers,and in another one that her current ipod playlist is mixes of new ND material.

In the CT KC 101 interview,Adrian said his favorite ND memory(or at least one of them) was playing the Irvine shows-he said those crowds were the loudest ones he could remember.(On a personal note,he said his memory of Connecticut is playing in a tournament at Mohegan Sun four years ago and shooting a record score for the golf course there.)
