Happy 40th Birthday Gwen Stefani; Rare Interview From 2004
Everyone at BSO would love to wish Gwen a very happy 40th birthday! I can’t believe it! She has not only been an idol, but continues to keep inspiring us with everything she does. I personally have looked up to her for more than half my life, and she is such a good role model and a genuine sweet person that I aspire to be. Gwen, I wish you the best of luck with everything you do, and much love to you, your family, and friends on your special day.

We just added a rare interview with Gwen from online magazine Tiscali from 2004. She talks a lot about the unreleased song “Fine By You,” written with Linda Perry, is about not wanting to be inspired, “anything I do, is fine by you.” It turned out to be a sweet little love song, but apparently Linda came in the next day with “What You Waiting For?,” and the rest is history.
She also discusses how the whole “Alice in Wonderland” theme came to be, and it’s quite surprising. She says that it was a reoccurring theme through out the year, but she was actually approached by a director at a party asking how she felt about playing Alice in a musical/dark comedy about the story.
